Moving Space is an opportunity for embodied exploration through conscious dance ­– an invitation to play, experiment, feel and be. We move to an eclectic range of music, with a little facilitation to help you find your way into your body and connect with your practice, but the emphasis is on offering a space for dances to emerge. 

This is a friendly, diverse community of dancers which welcomes newcomers – both experienced movers and complete beginners. There’s no choreography to get right, and no dance experience or ability is necessary, just a willingness to move and offer your attention to what spontaneously unfolds.

 

The studios at Acosta Dance Centre have ample natural light and sprung floors. The Centre is a few minutes from the Elizabeth Line, DLR and Southeastern Trains.

Dates: Last Sunday of every month – upcoming dates 25 January, 22 February, 29 March, 26 April, 31 May and 28 June.
Time: 11.15am–1pm. Doors open at 11.15 and close at 11.30am. 

Place: Acosta Dance Centre, Building 40, Artillery Square, No. 1 St, Royal Arsenal, Woolwich SE18 6BH.

Getting there: Woolwich (Elizabeth Line) is a few hundred metres away. Woolwich Arsenal DLR and Southeastern Trains are a 3-minute walk. Many buses stop nearby. The Heritage Car Park and the Cornwallis Rd Car Park are close by.
Finding the Acosta Dance Centre: In No. 1 Street walking away from the main gate to the Royal Arsenal, pass the Waterside Club and set back from the street you will see a free-standing brick building with two flags on it. This is Acosta Dance Centre. Enter by the big black door at the front. If you pass Woolwich Works, you've gone too far.
Cost: £20 comfortable income / £18 regular income / £12 financial hardship. To decide which rate is appropriate for you, please read the fee policy.

Children: Welcome if accompanied. Please be prepared to make the child’s well-being your priority. Under-14s go free; 14–18-year-olds pay £5.

Payment: Booking is recommended. Cash on the door is also possible (correct money appreciated). Sorry, no card payments on the door.
