The Hypermobility on the Yoga Mat mentor group is a safe, supportive space to reflect on your experience of teaching hypermobile students and / or practising yoga as a hypermobile person. This is a place to bring your challenges and learning edges, to notice what’s working for you and what isn’t, and to explore new approaches and ways of both being on your mat, and holding space for hypermobile students (where relevant). While I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area, the sessions are also designed to foster your capacity to connect with your own inner teacher and access what you already innately know. The groups will consist of:
Experiential exploration, including writing, drawing, moving.
Speaking and listening.
Practical investigation of ways to practise and teach asana with hypermobility in mind.
Sharing of information and resources.
Numbers are limited to eight so that we can build close, trusting relationships among ourselves, and the group can be a safe place for participants to be vulnerable. We meet weekly, online, for six weeks.
Who is it for?
These groups are based on building relationships among participants so that it feels safe to share honestly and from the heart. For this reason, session recordings will be available only to those who were present at the meeting.
If you attend at least four of the six sessions you will receive a certificate of attendance, which you can use for CE credits. Please check with your professional body that they will accept the Hypermobility on the Yoga Mat Mentor Group as continuing education. (They usually do.) If you attend fewer than four sessions, you will not receive a certificate of attendance.
Time: 7.30–9.30pm (UK time).
Dates: 12, 19, 26 September; 3, 10, 17 October. You must be able to attend the first session and commit to attending at least four meetings in total. It is not possible to book individual dates.
